Our traditional week long summer camp is filled with opportunities for youth to have fun while exploring their faith on a deeper level. Worship and bible studies are a key component to our ministry. While exploring our faith is the most important part of camp there is time to camp out around a fire, swim in our pool, do high and low ropes, explore 840 acres of beautiful land, and a thousand other things to have fun while building friendships that can last a lifetime.
Tomah Shinga is an ideal place to bring people closer together and closer to God. With year around heated and air conditioned cabins and a lodge with full kitchen and dining hall it has all of the amenities you need to have a successful retreat experience. Worship at one of our outdoor sites or use the historic Woodbine chapel. Walk 840 acres starting at Lyon Creek through old growth black walnut and oak past the cedars into native tall grass prairie. Want some adventure? Try the high ropes course! Do as little or as much as you like while you use Tomah Shinga as a true retreat away from the world outside of our gates. Come for just a day, an overnight or as long as you like.
Tomah Shinga has one of the regions most diverse and beautiful landscapes encompassing river bottoms, dry stream beds that wind through old growth oak and black walnut groves, stands of cedars dotting the property and native tall grass prairie. It is an outdoor educational dream come true. If you are an High school or college educator, a homeschool educator or member of an outdoor club consider coming out for the day to experience this amazing place. (please contact us about reservations)
We have an adventure waiting for you! Our high ropes course has four climbing wall courses and elements that will be sure to challenge you and your group. Low and high ropes courses are an amazing way to build not only individuals' confidence but help groups to bond. Everything we do at the ropes course is "Challenge By Choice" and designed to lift up individuals and groups. It is not about getting to the top, it is about celebrating wherever it is you do get to on the course. This can be a phenomenal self esteem builder and is a great tool to build community. Families are strongly encouraged to try this together! Groups that are just forming (new youth groups, etc.) can find lots of value in this course!
