JACOB SPILKER, Interim executive director
Jacob was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He went to Bethany College and graduated with a B.A. in Religion and immediately returned to his roots—summer camp with Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries. In 2015, Camp Tomah Shinga was lucky enough to have him join our staff. His goal in this position is to allow people of all backgrounds to come explore God’s creation through a faith lens.
Andrew Bouza, Seasonal Program Director
Andrew was born and raised Tonganoxie, Kansas. He went to Bethany College and graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and during the school year he teaches middle school science and coaches cross country and track in McLouth, Kansas. He joined Camp Tomah Shinga staff summer 2019, and his goal in this position is to have an unmatched outdoor education program.
Rachel Griffard, Marketing coordinator
Rachel was born in Long Island, New York and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She is working on her B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Kansas and works as a photographer for the University Daily Kansan during the school year. Her goal while working at Camp Tomah Shinga is to use her camera to capture all the beauty of God’s creation and His children.
Jordan Valentine, Adventure Specialist
Jordan was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is working on her B.A. in Physical Education. She has been certified in high ropes and challenge course for two years, and she loves using her skills to help campers explore the beauty of God’s creation and deepen their faith in Him. Her goal while working at Camp Tomah Shinga is to help campers push their comfort zone and find out the true extent of their abilities.
